The Primary Care Physicians practicing at the Glen Sather Sports Medicine Clinic hold the Diploma in Sport Medicine of the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine. Sport Medicine is the practice of medicine as it applies to all aspects of physical of activity.
Our Sport Medicine Physicians currently provide medical care to the University of Alberta Golden Bear and Panda athletes, and are affiliated with the athletic programs at NAIT.
A number of them are also directly involved in the medical care of Edmonton's professional sports teams. All of our Sport Medicine Physicians have traveled as members of Canada's National Sport Medicine Team to a variety of major international games, including the Pan-Am Games, the Universiade Games, and the Olympic Games.
The Glen Sather Sports Medicine Clinic recognizes the practice of Sport Medicine as a specialty, requiring a patient to be referred to our physicians for consultation by a family physician.
