Performing Orthopaedic surgery.

Orthopaedic surgeons are medical specialists who perform surgery to correct problems that arise in the skeleton and it's supporting ligaments and muscles. The Division of Orthopaedic Surgery in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta recognizes the practice of Sport Medicine as a subspecialty.
To improve the efficiency of service delivery, the orthopaedic surgeons who act as consultants at the Glen Sather Sports Medicine Clinic require a patient to be assessed by one of the Clinic's Sport Medicine Physicians prior to their consulting with the patient. The Sport Medicine Physicians are knowledgeable in the various forms of diagnostic testing required to ensure a thorough assessment of your condition by a surgeon thus permitting treatment decisions to be made in an efficient manner at the time of your initial consult with the orthopaedic surgeon.
