> Alexa Hassen, Kinesiologist
BSc Kinesiology, CSEP-CPT
Alexa completed a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with the University of Alberta in December 2009, in addition to the CSEP-CPT designation, and plans to acquire the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) accreditation in 2010.
In the fall of 2009, Alexa completed an internship with the ASDC Capital Region where she assisted in the delivery of strength and conditioning programs to youth athletes with and without disabilities, and conducted fitness testing for program participants, the Edmonton Oilers, the Edmonton Eskimos, Special Olympians, provincial and varsity athletes.
A native of Sherwood Park, Alexa’s other volunteer experience includes working with the Centre for Adapted Group and Individual Exercise (2007), as well as coaching the ABJ senior women’s volleyball team for two years (2005 and 2006 seasons).
Alexa has also been very active in women’s fastball in Alberta for a number of years, playing for the University of Alberta and in the Edmonton Ladies Softball league.
Alexa wishes to continue working in the strength and conditioning field, educating and assisting individuals on their path toward achieving, maintaining or regaining fitness.
