Dr. Dhiren Naidu is an Assistant Professor within the Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Alberta. He received his medical degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1999 and completed his Royal College specialty training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (Physiatry) in 2004. In 2005, he completed a fellowship in Sport Medicine and trained to do x-ray guided joint injections and nerve blocks. He also works at HealthPointe Medical Centre, a multidisciplinary chronic pain clinic.
Dr. Naidu’s clinical practice includes sports, musculoskeletal and pain medicine. He is an advocate for the multidisciplinary model of treatment. His academic interests include undergraduate and resident teaching and research in concussion.
Dr. Naidu is currently a team physician with the Edmonton Oilers, Edmonton Eskimos and with the University of Alberta Golden Bears Football Team. He is an International Classifier with the Cerebral Palsy International Sports and Recreation Association (CP-ISRA), a branch of the Paralympics
