Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic massage is an effective mode of treatment for injuries which may occur during our lives.
These injuries may be the result of:

  • A specific trauma (i.e. motor vehicle accident, athletic injury, etc.)
  • Overuse (i.e. Occupational injuries, tendonitis, repetitive strain etc.)
  • Conditions that develop over time (i.e. headaches, arthritis, fibromyalgia etc.)

In response to these conditions, massage therapists have expanded their role in preventative and rehabilitative expertise and have adapted their techniques to assist a wide variety of ailments.

Massage therapists will combine their assessment skills and knowledge of physiology with an integration of their personal experience to provide the patient with effective care and treatment.

Massage therapists will educate patients regarding proper postural procedures and harmful repetitive strain patterns. Remedial exercises will be suggested to assist in the prevention and treatment of certain conditions.

Massage therapy is a hands-on approach which affects all the systems of the body; most specifically the muscular, circulatory and nervous systems, helping to relax the muscles. When the muscles are loose and circulation is efficient there are a reduction in pain and a decreased chance of injury or dysfunction resulting in better health.
