Through the offering of specialty placements, elective rotations, and fellowships, the educational component of the Clinic’s mandate reaches physical therapy and athletic therapy students, as well as medical students, residents, and practitioners province wide. Regardless of the “student’s” professional training, an educational experience at the University of Alberta Glen Sather Sports Medicine Clinic is able to provide exposure to every aspect of a patient’s care. This may include management of the acute injury as it occurs on the field of play, through to the clinical assessment, diagnosis, medical treatment and rehabilitation of the injury.
